1. DEADLINE: Entries must be postmarked no later than
March 1, 2007.
2. Submit one (1) copy of entry, which must be an original,
unpublished work by you, not sold or optioned prior to this
contest deadline, excepting chapbooks, which may include
individual poems previously published. Entries placing in the
top three of any category from the FIW 2006 Contest are
ineligible. Exception: Poems within the chapbook may be
previously published, but not the chapbook itself.
3. All entries must be double-spaced (unless otherwise
specified in the category listings), typed in 12-point font size
on one side only of 8½ X 11” white paper with 1” margins on all
sides. Black ink only.
4. Put your name on the contest entry form and outside
envelope only. An author’s name on any part of the entry
pages will result in immediate disqualification without refund.
5. Type the title on the first page, and the title or keyword(s)
on the top left-hand corner of each succeeding page. Number
the pages consecutively beginning with the first page of your
manuscript. Synopses, treatments, query letters, and outlines
should be numbered consecutively but separately from the
manuscript.
6. A separate entry form is required for each submission.
7. Do not send anything signature required. Either use
“Delivery Confirmation” service provided by the Post Office,
or enclose a self-addressed, stamped postcard with the entry to
be returned when your entry is received.
8. Enclose a 10 X 13 SASE for return of entries, judges’ score
sheets, and any winner certificates and prizes. NOTE: the
SASE should contain the SAME POSTAGE as the envelope
mailing your entry. Stamps only—no metered mail. Any entry
without SASE will be destroyed and no certificates or prizes
will be sent, but the entry will not be disqualified.
9. Entries failing to comply with these rules will be
disqualified and returned. No refunds for disqualified entries.
